  • Hi there

Just posting another design from my Cherish collection commissioned by Rowan. This unisex boat neck sweater is knitted in Rowan's Summerlite 4ply

I have so many customers tell me that they make the decision to knit both boys and girls newborn gifts ahead of the baby's birth as they so want to give their beautiful handknits to mum as soon as the baby is born.
.... So I decided to include this unisex sweater into my Cherish collection in the hope it will help.  This sweater looks great in this unisex soft neutral 'Washed Linen' shade and can be knitted ahead of the baby arriving. The patternwork on the sleeves and welt are swiss darned additions to the finished sweater and can be added in boy or girl colours of your choice once the little bundle has arrived. Problem solved! The two colours shown in the diamond patternwork here are 'Steel Grey' and 'Duck Egg',  I also sampled the a girls version in 'Steel Grey' and 'Blushes' (pink) which I also loved.

The envelope neck has a button opening on each shoulder for easy dressing.

I think this 4ply weight is a perfect layer for little ones in the spring and summer months. This was the weight I always reached for when my children were little.

If you are tempted to buy the book......visit Rowan's website for more information and a full list of stockists.

I'll show you some other designs from this book very soon.
