Knit this stripy poncho with a cosy hood for chilly days.
A great design for babies and young children, as you can slip it on and off so easily when baby is fast asleep in the buggy or car seat. As a mother I have found this poncho shape invaluable with my own children, as have many of my customers.
The wide A-line shape also means there is no arm restriction when playing.
You will need any Aran (US equivalent-Worsted) weight yarn that recommends 5mm (US#8) needles. The ponchos in these photographs are knitted in an Aran weight 100% soft wool on a pair of straight 5mm needles (34cms/13.5 inches long).
This poncho pattern has instructions for the following sizes:
The shaping is integral to the knit, which means you knit this poncho as one piece and only have to sew up one seam at the centre front and another across the top of the hood.
I also give instructions to help you sew a smooth invisible seam.
My patterns are written so they are very easy to understand. If you have a question take a look in my support>FAQs section as somebody else may have already asked your question. If you require further help just send an email as we are always happy to help.
Your baby poncho knitting pattern will be available as an INSTANT PDF DOWNLOAD immediately after payment.
